Baby Therapy Centre

Baby Therapy Centre

The Baby Therapy Centre is an early intervention service, which helps all babies and toddlers with an impairment or development delay to expand their competence. Families of these babies are assisted to cope with the enormous burden they face.

13% of all babies have a mild to severe handicap, arising from injury, disease or genetic disorder. The good news is that early treatment and stimulation increase the chances for normal development in the period of maximum brain growth!

With this earliest treatment, secondary handicaps and fixed abnormalities are prevented in impaired babies who are otherwise deprived of learning experiences.

Feed the Babies Fund

Feed the Babies Fund

Feed the Babies Fund is a registered charity (not for profit) organisation. Our core focus is the feeding of disadvantaged babies and toddlers. Funding is obtained from a generous public as no funding is received from government. The Fund is controlled by a Board of Trustees and the functions of the Fund are carried about by a small staff complement.

Our aim is the elimination of malnutrition and promotion and maintenance of good health amongst babies of all races through the distribution of food, food supplements and items of comfort ensuring that they receive at least one nutritious meal a day during their formative years from birth to six years old; and enjoy the pleasures of childhood.

Harvest Aid

Harvest Aid

Harvest Aid is a Christian Relief Agency facilitating the delivery of aid to orphans and the needy in Africa. Harvest Aid provides food, help and other needed supplies to those in desperate need. This includes child/orphan and Child-led family sponsorship programs, feeding projects and disaster relief.
It is our firm belief that as far as possible indigenous people should be helped to provide for themselves. It is however a fact of life that disasters occur and that people need short term aid.

One of the most challenging facets of providing aid is the need to make sure that the aid that is given to designated target group arrives at it's destination. Most aid seems to disappear along the way with the needy receiving only a small portion of the donated aid. We works in close partnership with HIM. Harvest Aid uses the infrastructure of HIM to control and facilitate the delivery and distribution of aid. This enables Harvest Aid to ensure that aid arrives at it's goal

Koningsdal Child and Youth Care Centre

Koningsdal Child and Youth Care Centre is a Children's Home registered with the Department of Welfare and hosts 90 children from the ages of babies to 18 years.

Children are referred by a Court of Law. The following children are cared for, children in need of care, abandoned, physically abused, sexually abused, orphaned and HIV/ Aids. We are situated in the beautiful valley of Zulu Kings eMakhosini, in the district of Babanango.

Koningsdal was founded by Reverend Stander in 1953. The children's home was built for girls only. The home housed 36 girls. In 1988, Mr and Mrs Brown took over the management of the home. We are now registered to take care of 90 underprivileged children. The children are in need of a lot of tender loving care in a safe environment. The needs of the Children are cared for by a registered Social Worker, trained Child Care Workers, under supervision of Management.

At present we are fundraising for the following projects:

We would like to start a vegetable garden. Through this project we can save money and give the children some organically grown vegetables. Needs: small tractor with implements, seeds, fruit trees
The children's beds need to be replaced
The floors are cement floors and we would like to put some cover on- carpets, tiles or Marley sheets
Laundry - industrial washing machine and tumble drier
Kitchen and dining room need attention
Web-site to be designed
Books and a set of encyclopedia
Christmas gifts for the children
Food parcels
Bicycles for high school children- 18 girls and 11 boys. They have to walk 6km every day to school and back. Some children are infected with HIV and Aids and walking so far is a very big challenge
